Working at Height / Fall Protection - Fall Protection Systems

Craig Engineering Total Access Systems Ltd. are approved distributors, installers and maintainers of Uniline Safety Systems. Uniline is acknowledged as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of fall protection products and height safety systems.

Craig Engineering’s experience and expertise in the field of bespoke access engineerig projects, combined with Uniline's extensive range of fall protection products; has proven to provide a service in the field of fall protection that is 'second to none'.

All fall protection installations conform to current EU and British Standards.

Horizontal Cable System

Uni-8 fall protection cable system is a versatile product that offers excellent functionality, by means of its 'free flowing bypass capability' (i.e. travel over intermediate line anchor fixings), and its ability to freely navigate varying corners and contours of building roof design.

The horizontal cable system can be fitted to steel beams, concrete slabs and up-stands, brickwork, standing seam roof systems and a variety of other roof constructions.

Using Uniline’s Force Management Anchors, the system can support multiple workers, for both fall arrest and fall restraint work applications.

Uni-8 cable system operates particularly effectively in overhead installations, using Uniline’s two wheeled line carriages, which ensure smooth travel over intermediate line fixing brackets, without snagging or interruption.

The use of high grade materials and a minimum of moving parts, ensures a long product life expectancy and low cost of ownership; this adds up to a 'sound investment'.

Horizontal Rail System

UniRail is a quality extruded aluminium alloy rail system, providing a high functional level of user safety, combined with an aesthetically pleasing and discrete product appearance.

Suited to modern building projects; in particular for safe internal and external facade access, for inspection and maintenance, and including walkways and suspended gantries. The product has also been used extensively for suspended access operations, as required by rope access technicians, as it meets the requirements of both abseiling and fall protection standards.

Alongside facade access, the UniRail System should also be considered for small installations requiring fall arrest safety, as loading imposed on anchorages to the building in the event of a fall is low (this is due to the product fixing specification) and as such can be very cost effective compared to other solutions such as cable safety lines.

In typical installation circumstances, UniRail can span up to 3m between support brackets (perfect for facade access), using a range of anchorage brackets which adapt to site conditions; furthermore, UniRail offers excellent functionality, through its free flowing attachment carriage and no intermediate brackets to pass over; the users experience with this system is truly 'hands free'. The facade access system is also capable of navigating varying corners and contours in the building roof structure, to provide complete design flexibility.

The UniRail systems can be fitted to steel beams, concrete slabs and up-stands, brickwork and standing seam roofs. The system can also support multiple workers for both fall arrest and fall restraint work applications.

The use of high grade materials and a minimum of moving parts, ensures a long product life expectancy and low cost of ownership; this adds up to a 'sound investment'.

Vertical fall arrest and vertical protection

The Easy Climber System is a family of products used for safe access to a variety of vertical structures and climbing applications, which, when used with patented 'Monkey™ Attachment Device', provides a highly functional, robust and cost effective vertical fall arrest safety solution.

Unique design features ensure the user remains as close to the structure as practically possible during climbing, which, in the event of a fall, means that only a very short distance of travel occurs before fall arrest, when compared to other products on the market. This reduces the forces on the user and the structure, mitigates the risk of injuries from collisions and therefore reduces the potential need for emergency rescue.

The vertical fall arrest system has been designed to be cost effective without compromising quality or safety. This makes it especially attractive for operators of large utilities networks such as telecoms, electricity and wind farm operators.

Easyclimber vertical fall arrest systems are equally suitable for industrial safety applications such as: safe climbing of vertical ladders, to access roofs, chimney stacks, silos, lighting columns, ships masts, theme park rides, bridges and many, many more.

Also available with this system is an optional ladder extension bracket to enable safe access and egress at roof level, a problem which can often be overlooked when a ladder is manufactured and fitted with a safety system.

Minimal moving parts, the properties of the cable and high grade materials ensure a long product life expectancy, low cost of ownership, which adds up to a 'sound investment'.
