Sometimes referred to as Mansafe systems, safety lines or fall arrest systems, are amongst the most cost effective option for protecting operatives in an environment which expose them to a fall from height, especially when dealing with fall hazards over large distances, such as a roof edge.
Craig Engineering Total Access Systems Ltd. are approved distributors, installers and maintainers of DBI Sala and Protecta fall protection and arrest cable systems, supplied by 3M (Capital Safety). 3M is acknowledged as one of the world’s leading manufacturer of fall protection products and height safety systems.
The advanced design of 3M’s RoofSafe force management anchors, allows customers to benefit from modern roofing design whilst ensuring safety and structural integrity is maintained, even when fall arrest loads are applied. Additionally, as the obligation for building managers to comply with health and safety regulations increase, the need for safety solutions on older buildings and structures is essential. RoofSafe anchors are equally suited for installation on older buildings that require a fall protection solution, as a large range of roof interfaces are offered.
The RoofSafe cable system is a exceptional product that offers excellent functionality, by means of its ability to freely navigate varying corners and contours of building roof design. The system is able to dissipate the loads generated in the event of a fall via the patented Spiratech force management posts. In addition to mounting on rooftops, the cable system can be wall or overhead mounted to steelwork, concrete and masonry, and a variety of other materials and structures. The overhead system two wheeled carriages ensure smooth travel over intermediate fixing brackets, without snagging or interruption to the user.
Fall Protection Rail is particularly suited to applications where the deflection of a cable system is undesirable, or where the end loads generated from a cable system are too significant for the end anchorage points.
3M Capital Safety’s aluminium UniRail product is a premium fall protection rail system, suited to both modern building projects and retrofitting to existing and older building design practices, in particular for internal and external façade access, inspection and maintenance including walkways and suspended gantries. The product has also been used extensively for suspended access work by rope access technicians, as it also meets the requirements of both abseil, rope access, and fall protection standards.
A more cost effective steel C track rail solution is available for projects which do not require the architectural requirements of the aluminium rail profile, giving a more ‘industrial’ appearance. The steel system can be installed in all orientations, supplied zinc plated, hot dip galvanized or polyester powder coated finish to a variety of colours. Suitable for both indoor or outdoor use.
Craig Engineering offer specific, fully bespoke engineered solutions, utilising a combination steel frame structures and proprietary rail systems. All steelwork comes CE marked to BS EN 1090. All our fall protection installations conform to current EU and British Standards.
